Staff Training: Required Learning

Required Learning for 2005-06
CPHS, LHS, VRHS, NHHS, HS LEO

Number of hours required: 14 hrs.

To give teachers quality choice in learning, it is preferred that teachers receive the two-days of learning before school begins. The following learning requirements were developed through collaboration among principals, campus and district improvement teams, and district administrators to align with the Four Challenges and district goals.
NOTE: High School staff new-to-district earns 14 hours of comp by attending Culture and Philosophy on August 8..New staff may, of course, register for any classes they want to attend during the summer by calling 434-5117 to register. To comp August 12, all HS instructional staff must attend the following training:

Audience: All HS instructional staff
Dates: Check catalog for your specific content offering

If this training is not taken prior to August 12, staff will recieve it on August 12 or forfeit a day's pay.
 

All HS instructional staff must earn an additional 7 hours to comp January 16:

High School instructional staff may choose from any LISD class offered for comp credit to earn hours required to comp January 16. To receive comp credit for out-of-district training, please get prior approval from your principal or appropriate supervisor. Send a copy of your certificate to Anita Cotter @ Instructional Services as soon as you return from the training for local documentation in eLMS. If the 7 hours are not earned prior to January 16, staff will attend training on that day. NOTE: please check course descriptions carefully as not all courses offered receive comp hours.
